I need to revise that message to accurately reflect what they did: I wrote as you noted--------- "Recently, had a friend(not gay) to marry in the Catholic Church. The couple did two ceremonies-----one was done in the late winter as a civil union under the laws of the USA and the second ceremony was done after several months of instruction to confirm the marriage in the sight of God via the Catholic Church. REVISION: "Recently, had a friend(not gay) to marry in the Catholic Church. The couple did two ceremonies-----one was done in the late winter as a Marriage as under the laws of Virginia and the USA. The second ceremony was done after several months of instruction by the Catholic Church to confirm the marriage in the sight of God via the Catholic Church." The first ceremony was a Marriage and not a Civil Union as being referred to for gays or lesbians. mj
