Now a Penny and Nickle are worth more than the face amount so the Mint is changing the Composition of the Coins now. Like the Old War Penny .. 1942 ? .. when Copper was in Extreme Demand. As soon as all these Electric Cars go into production the copper demand will be huge if they are produced enmasse. Lots of copper in the windings. We're headed into another one of those major long term Paradigm Shifts.
