People need to be careful projecting their own emotions onto others.

An occupational hazard of the Left, who have elevated feelings into rationales. They keep repeating how trashed America is abroad. If that's so, why have all the major states of Europe elected more conservative governments? It's not the world that hates America. It's the Left of the world that hates America.

I'll give you a link to a posting today from mindmeld, a lifelong Republican (lives in California,I think) who this year voted for Obama and convinced his father in Texas (but not the rest of his family) to vote for Obama.

Message 24602407

He's in Japan on vacation.

Rather than divert this thread over there, here is his post:

Hi all,

been awhile since I've posted. I've been on vacation in Japan and will be here another week. Looks like our man continues to kick butt.

News from Japan. We have a Japanese tour guide who has been traveling with my family all over Japan and has been translating for us wherever we are. I've asked a number of Japanese whether they have been watching the US elections, and if so, who do they like. 100% of those asked said they were very intrigued with the US elections and 100% said they were for Obama. It turns out there is a Japanese town called Obama in Japan, which initially got Japanese folks curious about Barack. However, most like him for what he stands for as well. None like McCain or Hillary. :)

On that note, I'm going back on snooze. ;)
