fpg, we've been over this and settled the fact we understand what the words mean, and that they occur in legal texts. What I am seeing in reading cases is that US courts explicitly endorse "average variable cost", and not "average total cost", and certainly not "avg long term (anything)".

Understanding what something means does not imply that the understood method is the standard used by courts.


OK, so you, I, and economaniac are on the same page then with regard to eco's post containing:

"marginal cost pricing is tantamount to selling at a loss"

(with regard to price predation price/cost tests, since the test is against AVC which is greater than MC.)
