American also plans a $15 fee for the first checked bag.

That will make the cabins more uncomfortable. Everyone will try squeezing on with more carry-ons than will fit. Wonder if they'll enforce the carry-on rules or not.

Having said that, their moves seem smart to me.

Wow. Things just get worse and worse. I saw where the unions are not very happy and are protesting at the annual meeting. I don't envy Arpey his job.
