It will never be called Communism in the US because of all the conditioning during the cold war. IMO, Communism and Fascism are almost identical - a small group of people use the power of the state to control the majority. Whether corporations or the state "own" the means of production is a matter of semantics (eg, when the government and big corporations become indistinguishable). My concern is that quickly rising oil prices could lead to a lot of panic amongst formerly middle class people who then start to look for scapegoats. Starting to happen already.
