This election will be an acid test to see if economic populism can bring back the Reagan/Rove Democrats who were pulled to the red side on election day out of security concerns. But I am glad that Obama's electoral map is not just about refighting Florida and Ohio again. Broadening the strategy and flipping some purple states gives us a chance for a fresh start. Obama is back on his high-energy charisma groove, speaking in Tampa right now. Hopefully the next six months of infectious enthusiasm gets us a real political sea change in November.
