JF, > Heard it from two different talking heads on MSNBC yesterday (one might have been Mathews). Not really fishy at all. Politicians often say to the press "Listen up, I'm going to make such and such statement in this speech". That's why you often hear the press say "And President Bush in his speech today is expected to say that...".

I understand if you don't have links, but I'd still like to know for sure whether Bush or anyone else in his administration mentioned Obama specifically.

It's not beyond Bush to give a wink and a nod, but the reaction from Obama and the media is still out of proportion, IMO. So what if you want to talk to Iran without any pre-conditions? I would support that. Just stand your ground on certain issues like terrorism, Israel, and Palestine.

I heard the same thing on "This Week". The "round table" were all laughing about how the Bushie press flacks had pre-announced that Bush was going to say something about Obama, but when it went over like a lead balloon, they said he didn't, then finally came up with Jimmy Carter!
