Well in that case I won't get my hopes up too high and will be patient. "...swelling clays below 1500 feet." Does [t]VIT.v[/t] have a stratigraphic profile on their website? Clay below 1500 feet doesn't sound like Basin & Range geology but I'll have to research that. Other reasons drillers are loosing strings in the hole might have to do with inexperience since every operating drill rig in Nevada has a backlog and geos wanting them to run 24x7 and a chronic shortage of crews. I'm not a driller but perhaps RR could comment. Couldn't they be doing other things that increase the likelihood of getting stuck such as pushing too fast or too slow or using too much or too little water. Maybe they're crossing from one rock type to another at an angle and deflecting the drill bit. Maybe they're trying to get too much mileage out of their drill bits. I'm just speculating cuz I don't know. It sounds like you have a good source so please keep us posted. I'm sure that's nothing an IR guy would tell you if you called.
