I agree, and think it's his first tough call. If it becomes widely known that Clinton wanted the vice presidency and Obama did not give it to her, it may piss off enough Clinton voters to make an Obama victory in November very narrow, or even throw the election to McCain.

At this point Clinton polls considerably better than Obama against McCain. I think there is a potential landslide for an Obama-Clinton ticket, which will very much strengthen Obama's hand in making the difficult decisions that need to be made.
