me join you in saying that it will be a relief to see the small children reunited with their mothers....assuming the state of Texas backs down now. I'm not opposed at all to having some pressure put on the members of this sect to better educate their children and postpone marriage, but this raid was pretty brutal. And the unsubstantiated charges that were made by the state and then acted on are worrisome in terms of personal civil liberties.

Me too.

That's the part that concerns me the most. I assumed when it happened that there was a strong basis for the raid. As the weak nature of the reasons came out, and then the small children were separated from mothers and entire families devastated on vague accusations, that went way too far for me!

Of course, when the state doesn't act, and something happens to a child, it gets blamed. But children in much worse circumstances than these have not been removed. You read about them in the news daily. It's not an easy call to make, and I always tried to place protection first. But you needed to have some compelling evidence for the decision.
