it seems obama does well among white voters at politically partisan caucuses, but obama does not do well when a state population votes. the press does not want to explain this, and clearly obama's people don't want to talk about it either. i went to a texas caucus of democrats this year, and it is clear the politically energized are the attendees. it takes a lot of effort to go to a caucus at night and wait around for hours to get to the voting part.
