Questions for Bridge Player;

It seems to me that drilling offshore and in ANWR would buy us a little time while alternative fuel and energy sources are researched, developed, and the infrastructure needed to support them is begun to be built.

But if the people have said "no" to your suggestions, what do we do then? Do you think as a democracy we should override the will of the people and drill any way? Do you think if my State says NO to drilling off our coast, the government should go ahead and do it? Where does this end?

I do believe that if we allow terrorist-supporting nations (of which Iraq was one, btw)

Just what terrorist was Iraq supporting?

steve

I do believe that if we allow terrorist-supporting nations ... to continue to develop nuclear or chemical or biological weapons

Allow? We're going to stop Iran how? No way short of flattening them. If it's not practicable to stop them, then don't we need a different approach?

I don't agree with invading sovereign nations for their oil.

To me, that was the most disturbing part of the good General's argument.

The rest of his points were more reasonable, but he failed to persuasively present them, IMO.

I have been known to change my mind following a well-reasoned, clearly-presented essay.
