I agree that they have a good rail system, however Europe is much smaller than the U.S. You could drive across multiple countries in a day's driving. Building a rail infrastructure here would be a lot more expensive. Besides, we love our independence and don't want anybody telling us where or when we can go someplace.

Maybe our cost of living will get closer to Europeans, but how many people in Europe have a 3-4 Bedroom house sitting on 1+ acres? Or for that matter, how many people in Europe have had the same opportunities to do what we each have done in our lives based on our individual performance?
