I've got a sorta funny one about the ability of spies to pass themselves off as native speakers. I was at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London many years ago. One of the students was a guy who called himself Gordon Lonsdale, supposedly a Canadian, but actually a honest to goodness Soviet spy. As a fellow Canadian we socialized a bit, but I always thought there was something a bit odd about Gordon. One day I told a British fellow student that there really was something weird, Gordon just didn't sound "Canadian" - to which the Brit replied - Nonsense, you all talk that way. So I dropped it.

Gordon went on to become moderately successful as a spy, infiltrating a British Navy weapons establishment, was caught, sentenced and finally exchanged for one of ours. The story of how the Russians dropped him into a slot to give him a Canadian identity is interesting but too long to recount here.

At least Brazil has some energy strategy , and perhaps an energy policy. We seem to have to have a shareholder rebellion like Exxonmobil is going through to get them pointed in the right direction.

I tell you I love this oil business now, but all for personal Reasons $$$$, but going forward I will be retired and we need to have our energy issues sorted out so myself and others can afford to maintain some similarity of prosperity.
