i'm not suggesting the legal advertising should be *prohibited*

i'm just saying it has had a pernicious effect by stimulating bogus lawsuits that cost consumers billions with the benefit going directly to the trial lawyers

nobody drags a litigant kicking and screaming into a bogus lawsuit, however, the advertising of false 'victimhood' stimulates the demand for such suits, and i contend that such is detrimental economically overall

the solution is tort reform, not prohibitions on advertising...

contingent fees coupled with legal 'advertising' for clients without penalty for frivolous lawsuits is a recipe for abuse
