Florida and Michigan believed the DNC wouldn't dare enforce the sanctions in two big swing states, so they would get an early place on the calendar and still have the results counted. They were wrong. So....they just thought the DNC was bluffing? That seems weird. There is also an intense legal web once elections are set. But, the DNC must have made its position known prior to the dates being set? That seems the big screwup in the whole thing, the states trying to play chicken with the DNC.
