I'm not going to go back and search, but as I recall it, sure, they all wanted to be earlier. At first. But then when the DNC didn't back down, the Democrats wanted to change back, and the Gov and the Legislature wouldn't allow it. But at this point, frankly, it isn't worth the debate. Everyone outside of Iowa and NH (almost everyone, anyway) knows that something must be done to change this way of selecting nominees. Of course there is little agreement on how to do that. That was the issue that FL and MI were trying to address in their own parochial little way.
