It's stuff like that screams for disrespect. And not for the flag.

Try this for a standard: stand up, shut up, and direct your attention to the flag. Anything beyond that, except at government ceremonies, is cornball micromanagement, IMO.

Has anyone ever been prosecuted under the Flag Code? Has any court said that Congress has the right to regulate minute details of our personal behavior?

And what will you do when a future Congress passes the Tree Code and forces you to stop and hug a redwood every time you drive by one?

This "law" would be tossed out in five seconds on constitutional grounds if anyone ever bothered to try to enforce it. Looks like a token gesture from Congress, very typical.
