Then I don't understand how the flag, a symbol of the nation, impacts character in ways other than patriotism, i.e. devotion to one's country. But I am unlikely to grasp where you are coming from on this, so don't feel obliged to keep expanding on it for my sake. It's not hard to predict who on the thread will like or dislike Obama and why. As I said, I am more interested in those here and offline who are genuinely undecided, and why. Partisan voices debating with one another go through predictable patterns. I always called those exercises kibuki plays where the style and ritual are followed so closely that nothing new is ever really presented.
