Until someone somewhere faces up to the financial realities we face - we are in very serious dodo. It will take a market event to force the reality lesson we are avoiding.

I agree with you on this statement. To be sure our best chance to do something about that was during the Bush/republican years. That they made things worse rather than better during a time our economy was roaring is especially sad as a missed opportunity. But then that is past and we are stuck going forward. ....So who can bring change? McCain and his promises of bigger military and more war sure as heck is not going to change the trend. And so this is why I am for Obama. If the known going forward is for more of the same with further decline into an economic abyss, then why not try something different. You base your disgust of Obama on historic actions of the democrats, but Obama is not history any more than complaining about the Bush years does us any good moving forward. Obama did not get to where he is because he is stupid, he is about to overcome the Clinton machine because he is smart and has the ability to see the trends and hire the best. He might just do that for the economy.
