Dale, I think most people, if they are honest, will admit to have racial thoughts. It's common. It comes from our very human propensity to stereotype and prejudge situations- which is often beneficial to us as humans. Most of us have to self censor these ideas so they don't come out our mouths from time to time- and most of us are lucky, we aren't public speakers, so if, from time to time, we say something offensive, no one is there to record it. We may realize we said it (and blush, and hope no one heard us), or we may say "Oh gosh, that's not what I meant"- but most people have been there.

Maybe not you. Maybe you've held yourself to a higher standard all your life. But Dale, it's common, and I'm not going to judge people on off the cuff remarks- I will judge them on their actions. "By their works ye will know them"- so people who do good, but occasionally say something stupid, get more of a pass from me than do nothings who say something stupid, and people who talk all the time, and are constantly monitored, get a little more of a pass from me too, because I know that most people screw up early and often when it comes to saying unPC things. That's the way people are. Now there's a difference between various kinds of hyperbole, and there's a difference between communities in which this stuff happens- which I also take in to account, but getting in to that metric probably wouldn't interest you. I'm just not with you on this one. It's too judgmental.
