You forgot "over 4,000 American soldiers dead and over 30,000 wounded. The cost of treating the wounded will drive the cost of the war into the trillions, not billions, of dollars. The Army and the Marine Corps will be at the edge of being broken, with reenlistment rates falling and enlistment ages lifted and standards lowered, suicide rates and broken marriages up sharply. A record number of West Point graduates will decide not to make the military a career. Reserves will be called up multiple times. Stop loss will become common, forcing careerists and reserves to serve beyond what they signed up for, whether or not they want it. And Rumsfeld, Franks and Tenet will get Medals of Honor."

But Saddam is gone.

Dale,

to add to that list... more importantly from a longer term perspective, Iran becoming the dominant player in the ME.

Do you see the recent turmoil in Lebanon and Hezbollah's victory as indicative of a vastly changed landscape?
