>Will it change FOR or AGAINST Obama?

I think for. Several reasons:

-The whole race thing is an issue for some, but most of the people who wouldn't vote for a black guy wouldn't vote for a Democrat anyway, and besides, a much larger percentage of the population thinks negatively about McCain's age than they do about Obama's race

-The Wright thing came out way too early for it to have an impact on the general election, and once again, people seem to care more about McCain's association with Bush than they do about about Obama's with Wright, and Bush ain't going away.

-The now extreme difference in Democratic vs. Republican enrollment

-Obama's just running a much better campaign than Kerry or Gore did (Gore's was abysmal all the way through, while Kerry's was OK other than a disastrous July and August). Obama's got a gigantic well of low dollar contributors, not to mention Clinton contributors, to draw from. And the donations from said donors get bigger for the general (I think I gave him $50 for the primary, and might give him $250 or $500 in the general).

-Money! Obama is going to have ten times as much as McCain will, whether McCain has to use public financing or not.

I by no means consider Obama a dream candidate, but he's solid and I'm happy to have him.
