Not so much. The country is not particularly conservative on gun control; it's just that among the people who are pro-gun, it tends to be a much more important issue than among those who are anti-gun.

Abortion, I dont think so. 3/4s of the country believes that at least some abortions are OK.

Strong military, yeah, but it's what our country was built on.

I don't believe the country is conservative. I believe the country is stupid, and the conservatives have been mining that motherload on the left side of the normal curve of intelligence with a solid mix of fear mongering and demonizing. Works great with the stupid, until they start to suffer..
