While Lebanon allowed the seeds of today's brand of terrorism to take hold, America's collapse in Somalia is what invigorated AQ to move forward with taking its war to the United States. AQ made its first attempt on the WTC shortly after Bush I put bases in SA. That's what invigorated AQ.....the tainting of Mecca by non Muslims. I suspect if I had the time and patience I could trace back every terrorist attack against the US to some inappropriate or aggressive action by a US president usually of the GOP variety.
