read it and weep!

It's a forecast Bob. Not a reality.

No, this budget will not be balanced, and anyone who believes that is delusional. Remember this the next time you hear someone criticize Bush on spending.

Oh, and the Democrats will pay for it by raising taxes by $683 billion — the biggest such increase ever.

While I'm not going to look it up, I strongly suspect that IBD said something very similar to that back when Clinton raised taxes in '93. And they were livid when Bush41 raised taxes a couple of years before that. Their record of forecasting the effects of tax increases isn't very good. And their editorials tend to be far more inflammatory than accurate.

I haven't look at the details of this bill, but I have both heard and read Kent Conrad. He is one of the more responsible senators on deficits around.

Bob;

read it and weep! Obama's biggest challenge will be his own party followed by the promises he has made.

Perhaps the saddest part of your post is that it sounds as if you are condemning Obama before he has a chance. Why not support the man as a representative of our country and wait for your condemnation until he fails?

The crap of not paying for programs is rather silly when you consider what Bush and the republicans managed to do to the American dollar, our deficits and the economy. If Obama brings our troops home and uses that money here in America, I think you will be shocked to your core as to what can be accomplished.
