California imports much of its electricity from surrounding states.

Don't know where anyone can buy "cheap off-peak power" do you?

I called my electric company a couple of months ago to inquire about differences between using power in the middle of the day..............like to run my dishwasher...........and in the middle of the night. I was told there wasn't any difference in the cost of those kilowatts. So I just do everything when it's convenient.......the middle of the day.

First, for really max saturation for solar energy, you need access 24/7. Second, outfitting your house for solar energy still is VERY expensive, especially for energy just when the sun shines.

I remember when CA had massive grid failures. Will those stop if All of CA (or even part of it) does go ON the grid?

We can't build more dams. And how do the dams work anyway?

Even if half of CA goes solar through their own houses, will they put in new coal, or new natural gas or nuclear plants?

Or would CA expect the rest of the country to pay more taxes so they could use this type of energy?

I can see that solar satellites combined with microwave stations to beam energy to earth might work. But does that technology exist today? Probably not....So how long will it take to this to work? No doubt years....

But we will never know if we go off, half cocked, spend our tax funds on every fly-by-night Congressman/woman thinks "Might" work....Look at global warming/global cooling/climate change, for instance. Have any of us heard a series of debates by WELL respected climate PHD's giving us their views and why? I for one, think that people like Algore, and all the follow-the-lemmings are just ignorant.

We need a National plan, working with companies of every type of energy participating with scientists who can sort some of the gibberish into information that at least makes sense even if is still a theory.

The Greenies and our elected Representatives over the last 40 years have caused us to be in this fix. Where and what do the Greenies suggest to give some solutions to the millions of people who need energy on a global scale.
