I've wondered how many are mixing up conservation (which I agree with) and global warming (which until we hear from serious PHD or better climatologists on one stage and for an all day discussion, I will continue to think is a bunch of hooey...)...?

Seriously, I think we as a people need a very serious discussion from all POV on this issue. Not just political lip service from those like Al Gore or Michael Moore or Susan Surandon who wouldn’t know a science degree if they fell on it…

I just finished watching "Into the Wild."

I read the book several years ago.

My synopsis of the movie is, this is a story about a self-absorbed, short-sighted young man who refused to recognize the people who touched his life and made it better and who tried to connect with him on a personal level. He died a lonely death that he need not have died. It was brought on by his foolishness and refusal to recognize those who tried to connect with him emotionally.

The movie is about what I'd expect from Sean Penn (director) but is also a reflection on the self-centered, "me" culture we seem to have adopted in this country.

'nuff said.
