There haven't been a lot of Islamic Jihad terrorists out of Iran. The 911 hijackers were Saudi Arabians, Yemens, Egyptians etc.

I know there was an embassy invasion and hostage taking a third of a century ago, but let's look to the future. Japan and German y did far worse than an embassy invasion [with few lives ended] and it was a LOT sooner than that that we were all buddies again.

How about Iran, Iraq, USA, NZ gang up versus the rest [Oz, UK, Canada, etc can be with us or against us]?

Sure, Amendiejihad wants to conquer Israel but even the best of friends have weird ideas which can normally be changed with the right influences.

If Saudi Arabia can't control their Islamic Jihad funding and murderers, then maybe Iran could help them. A freeway around the top of the gulf via Iraq would be useful, connecting Tehran directly to Riyadh and Mecca. Iranians could help Saudi Arabia look after Mecca and control evil-doers.

Or Saudi Arabia could help with marketing Iranian oil if Iranians are not able to do it well. It's not just Soleimani who can help both sides of the street.

>> Soleimani is confident about Iran's rising power in the region

Everyone keeps talking about how "powerful" Iran is becoming. How Bush's Iraq war has given Iran all this "power".

I want to know exactly what that "power" stems from. Because I still see the same old Iran, with a terrorist leader, sabre-rattling. Where's the substance?

Ahmedenijad has no more popular support for a war with us (or Israel) than Bush does. Ultimately, he is going to end up forcing Israel to shut him up. So, then what?

I think we're talking about some brand of "rhetorical power". But this will carry Iran a very short distance if Israel (or Bush) decides enough is enough.

The real power rests with the United States and it continues to be an order of magnitude beyond anyone else's. The only problem is our political system detracts mightily from the real power that is possessed by the nation.
