walking 7 miles is not an efficient use of his time ....he would ride his bike except it is it's a 'bad' route wrt crazy traffic, iow, not safe

he's been considering moving closer well before the fuel spike just because of the hours he puts in and would like the option of just walking home for lunch or to work....quality of life issues

can't imagine what people are thinking who actually have to take a hellish commute...

Not getting stuck behind landscapers every two blocks tooling around in 30 year old smoky pick ups dragging lawnmowers and blowers and weed whackers in rickety old trailers would be reason enough for me
Talk about a complete waste!
