Katelaw; The facts are that we have both occurring simulataneously, and I think this is unprecedented. I agree with this and have said so on Mish's thread. I have added things like computers and flat screen TV's to your list, things we don't have to have but might like to have. But more recently companies have been raising prices such as the recent Dow announcement. That might suggest more inflation is coming. ........As to medical care; it just doesn't fit well as you suggest. You need an antibiotic, as you noted, you don't argue price. Same goes for the doctor visit or surgery. You don't say I want the cheapest guy to do it, you want the best. So capitalistic controls do not work - will not work. That is why as a country we better sit down - all of us - and figure out how best to address the problem. steve
