They threw us out.

Well, that is unclear. According to the Saudi defense minister at the time, there was no further need for no-fly zones and thus, no need for the base -- he said, "This does not mean we have requested them to move". Take that however you want to.

It really doesn't matter -- it is totally beside the point, which was the our presence in SA had little to do with bin Laden's 9/11 attack.

If Iraq threw us out do you think we should leave?

If they could provide their own security (i.e., protection from Iran), then I would be pleased for us to leave. But there has to be a withdrawal that makes sense in the way it protects Iraq from Iran (and others) in the process.

In this connection, I will tell you I do have some discomfort with the negotiations that are now underway between Iraq and Iran in regard to America's continued presence. But I don't think the facts are out on this yet, so we'll have to wait and see.

We were in SA to help defend them and never claimed it was our territory. So leaving when the need was gone was reasonable.

As for Iraq, if they ask us to leave, of course we would. They and the UNSC keep asking us to stay a little longer though.
