If Obama is elected it will be interesting to see how much information he makes available to Congress and the Justice Department to pursue more corruption prosecutions for all the billions that went into Iraq and just vanished. Bush can't block access to all that in perpetuity, fortunately.

I'd like to see censure at the very least

I think it's called for, but I wouldn't want to see it happen. I'm not inclined toward vengeance. I just want things on track.

One of the things that was reinforced during my days of management consulting was that it is counterproductive to blame and punish. It's productive to acknowledge that "mistakes were made" and set a better course. I know that's unsatisfying but I also know that it's the constructive thing to do.

I assumed you were in that number. <g>

Sheesh! First Ed confuses me with KLP. Now you. Some folks just can't deal with moderation. <g>

Personally, I'd like to see censure at the very least, so that GWB's worst legacies do not become precedents.

I completely agree. There is much in the Bush legacy that should be repudiated else it gets repeated by either party.

I don't expect it to happen in a formal way but it would certainly help were it to be done.

Whiffle,

We had a discussion awhile ago with the conclusion that it'd be hard to prove that there was intentional deception. Short of that it's hard to pursue censure purely because the outcome was sub-optimal - that'd be hindsight bias.

I guess it's better to be forward looking.
