In none of these cases are you getting 80% more work out of oil, your either substituting something else for oil, or doing less work.

I think you understand what I mean. In essence, 90%+ use of passenger car gasoline is to transport a person and/or a small amount of stuff from point A to point B. We can do that with an 80% reduction in gasoline use.
