What do you propose to do to solve this problem?

It's already pretty seriously illegal.
It costs a lot either way. So do lots of other things. So what?
Legislate away. Play cops and robbers until the cows come home.

The financial cost is real and the druggie is not only hurting himself.

This "Society Cost" argument, plus the "what about the children?" argument, are the last refuge of people who want drug laws. It's the same argument used for every "safety" law passed, such as helmet laws.

I just don't accept them.
