"Goodness knows not everyone can afford ...

Healthy poor people have frigerater friends, healthy rich people have therapists.

Healthy poor people jump rope with their kids, healthy rich people go to the club.

Healthy poor people eat from each other's gardens, healthy rich people go to the organic market.

Heathy poor people take hikes or go play sports in the park, healthy rich people go to the Islands and enroll in sporting events.

"At the root of most problems are completely natural solutions- like eat better, get more exercise, make more human connections..."

Unhealthy people do nothing but sit around talking about how other people get all the breaks.

>>I have absolutely no problem with people harming themselves, but when people harm others- society really needs to step in.<<

Syb -

In one way I agree with this. However, people who commit suicide very often cause great harm to others. I have known many people who have had a parent commit suicide when they were young, and it can be devastating to them. It has long-lasting emotional and mental consequences, and puts those children at much greater risk of committing suicide themselves.

So diagnosing mental problems earlier is definitely something I'd like to see, and much easier availability of mental health treatment, as you suggest.
