True for your old stomping grounds in Juneau, but Anchorage has more direct connections to DC via Mpls.


I thought about that after I posted it.

I haven't been following Alaska politics much since I left. All these guys have baggage.

I am mad at Stevens because he won't fight for locality pay for federal employees in Alaska. That means we get hurt if we retire from Alaska as I did, big time. Locality pay figures into your pension, but the COLA doesn't. So if I retire from, say Washington DC I get a much better pension at any particular grade than I would if I retired from Alaska. It's totally unfair, but Stevens doesn't care.
