What that person might have said was that in the last 7 years; under Bush the Euro has gone from being worth 85 cents to being worth almost $1.60, an effective double, more or less. In that same period several european countries per capita GNP's have exceeded ours; and because of more fair social policies few , if any , of their citizens or on the streets or starving or without medical care; in comparison to the USA. This is factual and a sad situation for us. We have the capacity to change this if we get new leadership, namely Obama.

Tim:
Europes GDP is larger than ours and their currency is worth double ours.

Europe is a bunch of countries, with more people than the US.

Their currency isn't worth double ours, and if it was it would be meaningless in this context. Are the Japanese desperately poor because of the Yen is worth so little? If Chad issue a new currency that was worth $1000 would that mean that Chad was prosperous?

koan: "and we are a bunch of states. You cannot see it is basically the same thing!

The euro is double ours and our currency used to be worth more than their 10 years ago!!

euro about 1.56

dollar about .73

That is a double tim.

A strong cuntry has a strong currency!
