Now Rather was in combat? Rather's fake story was about Bush being a FU in the ANG. And about his commander being pressured by a higher up to cut him slack - problem - the higher up named had been retired 18 monthhs at the time the forged documents had him intervening on Bush's behalf. Even modest attempts to check out the story would have revealed this factual flaw. Rather also lied flat out in his story about having had the forged documents authenticated and where they came from. CBS rightly apologized for running the story. The forged documents were supplied by Bill Burkett, a crazed Democrat like you.
