"and determined that GXS's 9,200 Btu/st coal is worth $15.82 in the market."

Not sure what you're saying. You're suggesting the coal can be sold for only $15/ton?

GXS's coal is 8,100 to 10,000 BTU/lb or 19,000 MBtu/tn

Sub-bituminous A coal is certainly usable as thermal coal, which has a spot price of $150/tonne on the international market.

Bituminous C coal can be used for metallurgical applications (coking), which garners a higher price.

I don't know if those DOE prices are reflective of open market prices.
