""we need a smart person like Obama""

We need an EXPERIENCED smart person that surrounds himself with the most capable people he can find.

Unfortunately, Obama is lacking in CEO experience, international experience, military experience, negotiation etc. There is no substitute for experience.

In business, there is an old saying, "When a man with money and a man with experience meet, the man with experience will have the money and the man with money will have the experience."

Some argue that Busb's problems have come from him being dumb. I think at least half of his problems came from him surrounding himself with 2nd rate people and deligating to them. There was "Brownie" in homeland security, Hellen ?? (his legal council whom he humorously nominated to the Supreme Court, Rumsfeld as secretary of defense, and Brenner (who ran Iraq, and kicked out all experienced Sunnis from running the infrastructure, and demolished the professional military). Then he was slow to replace the failures.

Carter was smart, but he didn't delegate -- a lousy CEO.
A smart man without the proper experience just won't work.

Unfortunately Obama and McCain seem to have very costly ideas at a time when the unfortunate circumstances, no credible energy policy, poor trade negotiations, war and other US policies have left the country very poor.

US military reported to have killed about 300,000 Iraqis over the past 5 years -- mostly due to air attacks on populated areas. This is in addition to the 700,000 or so Iraqis killed by the sectarian violence that the destruction of their nation has touched off.

Just in case anyone still wonders why so many hate the US nowadays.
