John, looking at your personal information I think you are a senior citizen so like me you know how to conserve energy. Most young and middle aged folks will have to learn and it will take a while. Remember the slogan, "Is this trip really necessary"? We well know with a little planning a few trips with the car can be eliminated. I've seen my kids running the furnace while they walk around the house in shorts and no shoes. Also seen them running the air conditioner while they had doors standing open to a patio or deck. How much juice does it take to keep the pool going when it's seldom used? It's going to take a while but I think people will start cutting back.
