It is government services that allows those high earnings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name some. Social Security? Medicare? Homeland security? FDA? Highways? Those and the legal system, police, defense of the country, resolving international disputes, fire protection, all infrastructure, the federal, state and local legislatures, EPA, FDIC, SEC, Jeez this could go on for pages. You think all that stuff could go away and this country would function just fine? This stuff didn't happen by accident it's need for an orderly society and commerce. Funny how that benefits the guy earning $2M a LOT more than the guy earning $40K. Yep, by $1,960,000.
