Keep drinking the kool-aid.

First Off I could care less who appointed the head of the EIA. That agency has proven itself over time to be a poor barometer and predictor of the future.

Second, no one claimed that opening up off shore drilling tomorrow would affect gasoline prices immediately. But I guess you and others want to keep your heads in the sand and pretend there is no problem. If people hadn't been so shortsighted in the past to block this drilling, we would not be in the dilemma we are in today

Third, I guess you and some others find it comforting that China is drilling close to the Florida shoreline and yet we prohibit US companies from doing so.

Wake up folks - Worldwide demand has risen while production is topping off (see Saudi Arabia) or falling (see Mexico). The problem will only get worse without action. And one of those actions has to be drilling offshore the US.

This problem will not magically solve itself like some seem to want to believe
