Obama is certainly smart. But I think the great men have "character" (And from this "greatness" I would exclude Jack Kennedy--although he was coming along for sure) and when "character" meets cataclysmic world events the opportunity for "Greatness" arises.

Does Obama have character? The jury is out for me. And we won't know until events unfold. He may be just a smart politician. I am not encouraged by the facility by which he decided to take the money and break his pledge on public financing. That is what any smart politician would do. But this doesn't smack of "greatness" to me--not yet--maybe not ever.
