If a person who calls Marx a genius and says capitalism is doomed to fail isn't a Marxist, then who the heck is? Seriously, Brumar, do you not see that there are limits to unbridled consumerism? As the global population grows and resources are depleted, do you not think there may be a problem down the road? Am I really that far ahead of you in thinking? ------------------------------------------------------- Look, dude, this hungry need for possessions will destroy us in a world that is short necessary resources. And that's the inevitable end of consumerism. If you had half a brain, you would see that. Malthus said it a couple hundred years ago. Hasn't happened yet. Looks like human population is going to stabilize long before the earth reaches its human carrying capacity whatever that may be. It does? As far as I can tell, global population growth has not stabilized at all: census.gov That's an increase of 80 million in one year; a billion in 13 years.
