7/11/08 update Since my last update on 6/27, the Bears were able to make Fannie & Freddie and most of Wall Street say uncle, but not our brave biotechs. Thus, at Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -15.58% YTD (vs. -12.69% YTD two weeks ago). Meanwhile, the amazing Nasdaq Biotech Index actually gained for the period, being down -.38% YTD (vs. down -4.82% YTD two weeks ago). The Contest portfolio median also outperformed the Nasdaq Composite since 6/27, closing down -9.65% YTD (vs. down -12.76% YTD two weeks ago). At week's end, 8 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 8 of the portfolios beating the NBI. GENE's portfolio kept the lead, closing the week with a 89.7% YTD gain and ROBERT's portfolio held second place with a 37.8% YTD gain. Have a terrific weekend biofreaks!
