Why not? The justices came up with the "constitutional right to an abortion" with a very loose interpretation of the 4th amendment.

Those justices who believe likewise now want to strictly interpret the "militia" clause in the 2nd amendment?

Pick-n-choose, the hallmark of activist judges.

I haven't made a damned thing up.

While it may be true that membership in a militia was anticipated by the framers, NEVER, EVER was it suggested in any way that gun ownership was contingent upon membership in any militia. Never.

Look at the Constitutions of most states, it was the right to defend one's self. They knew what the majority of the Fathers wanted.
