ps.

6) One other possible solution is this. Given your stance on a quick withdrawal of troops from Iraq, we could immediately redeploy the National Guard to Alberta and after a quick "Mission Accomplished" simply annex Alberta to the USA. This would most likely be accepted by Canadians since it would have the added benefit of segregating Canada's eastern French population from its western antagonists. Because of the close proximity to the USA, the National Guard would likely be very much in favor of the new mission. We would be in a position to grant comfort leave to married soldiers with much more leeway and frequency(think German soldiers stationed in Poland in 1940).

I will sign this letter and send it to his campaign. I hope others will do so. This letter is readable, the other was not well thought out and almost illiterate, but the sentiment came through. MoneyPenny

Two typos in point 4 -- "whose" not "who's", and you forgot to close the bracket.

Senator Obama replies.

Dear Patron Anejo:

We are glad that citizens of a neighbor country are concerned about our energy situation and are readily proposing alternatives. The US nation is grateful for their efforts to alleviate that situation.

However, the US will reconsider its imports of oil derived from oil sands based on the following:

1) The US consumption of oil derivatives will plummet dramatically in the coming years as we change to smaller cars.

2) My administration will remove the tariffs on Brazil ethanol and provide incentives to those carmakers producing full-flex vehicles.

3) With Brazil's pre-salt coming on stream next decade we will be importing gasoline already blended with ethanol from Brazil.

4) If China's "imports of oil and oil derivatives are rapidly increasing (by at least 8-10%/annum) why Canada needs the US market for their oil sands derived crude?

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
